We have two major stock exchanges:

National Stock Exchange of India (NSE)

World’s third largest in terms of transactions and in no way behind than other premier stock exchanges, NSE is the biggest in India. It deals with Equity or common shares, Derivates, and debt markets (wholesale and retail). We shall discuss those in future.

 Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE)

It’s the oldest in Asia and located in the DALAL Street, Mumbai. You’ve definitely heard of Dalal Street, haven’t you?

BSE started in 1875 by a group of stockbrokers who began trading under a banyan tree and now it has over 3,500 companies listed! BSE deals with Equity or common shares, Derivates, and debt markets (wholesale and retail) like NSE.
